ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 10244, AND ESTABLISHING A DATE FOR AN ELECTION TO DETERMINE
WHETHER A COMMISSION SHOULD BE CHOSEN TO FRAME A CHARTER, AND
TO SELECT THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Ordinance No. 10244 is hereby repealed.
Section 2. A City election shall be held on Tuesday, February
5, 1985 on the following question:
QUESTION
Shall a commission be chosen to frame a charter?
Section_ 3. The election ordered in Section 1 shall also
determine the membership of the commission in accordance with
the terms of Article VI, §19 of the Missouri Constitution.
Section 4. Candidates for the commission may file their
petitions until 5:00 P.M. , December 4 , 1984 .
Section 5. Section 1 of this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after the passage and approval of
this ordinance. Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after November 7, 1984 .
