LL AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AUTHORIZING AN ELECTION TO APPROVE THE EXTENSION OF THE CITY LIMITS THROUGH. ANNEXATION. WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning the annexation of certain real estate to the City of Jefferson, Missouri was held, and a "Plan of Intent" and evidence in support thereof was presented; and, WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 9817 duly adopted by the City Council and approved by the Mayor, the Council authorized annexation of the unincorporated area which was the subject of that hearing; and, WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial Circuit Court on June 11, 1984, rendered a judgment in favor of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, in a cause of action entitled "City of Jefferson, Missouri v. Ronnie J. Jones, et al. " , CV183--3CC-1 finding the annexation of the unincorporated area to be reasonable and necessary to the proper development of the City of Jefferson, Missouri. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A proposition to extend the City Limits of the City of Jefferson, Missouri so as to embrace and include all that territory located in the County of Cole, Missouri, and as described below, shall be submitted to the voters of the City of Jefferson, Missouri and the voters of the unincorporated territory subject to the annexation proceedings, and an election shall be held and conducted for these two areas on Tuesday, the 5-th day of February, 1985. Section 2. The area to be annexed is described as follows : Beginning at the northeast corner of the southeast corner of southeast quarter of Section 9, Township 44 North, Range 12 West; thence southerly along the east lines of Sections 9 and 16 to the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 1.6; thence westerly along the quarter quarter section lines of Section 16 and 17 to the northwest corner of the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 17; thence southerly to the southwest corner of the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 17; thence westerly along the quarter section line of Section 17 to the easterly right-of-way line of the southerly extension of Fairgrounds Road; thence southwesterly along said right-of-way line to its intersection with the westerly line of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 17; thence southerly along the quarter quarter section line to the south line of Section 17; thence westerly along the section line to the easterly right-of-way line of South Country Club Drive; thence northerly along said right-of-way line to its point of intersection along the northerly right-of-way line of Scruggs Station Road extended to the east; thence westerly along said extension and the northerly right- of-way line of Scruggs Station Road to its point of intersection with the east line of the northwest quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 18; thence on a bearing of N 4° 37' W to the southerly property line of Modine Manufacturing Company, Inc. , which is also the center line of the abandoned railroad; thence on a bearing of N 88° 35 ' 39" W for a distance of 695 .0 feet; thence on a bearing of N 4° 34 ' 01" West, to the southerly right-of-way line of Old Lohman Road; thence . easterly along said right-of-way line to the western line of Section 17; thence northerly along the section line to the northwest corner of Section 17; thence easterly along the section line to the westerly right- of-way line of South Country Club Drive; thence northeasterly along said right-of-way line to the east line of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 8; thence northerly along the quarter section line to the northwest corner of the southwest quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 8; thence easterly along the quarter quarter section lines of Sections 8 and 9, to the point of beginning. Section 3.
