The polls were declared open at 7 : 00 a.m. The Election workers duly sworn in were: June Gallant, Warden; Ruth Hanlon, Deputy Warden; Jean Gage, Clerk, Precinct 1; Althea Ailing, Clerk, Precinct 2; Elizabeth Hardy, Clerk, Precinct 3; Kenneth Berbrick, Nancy Berbrick, Beatrice Bilton, Gloria Bowen, Helen Brandon, Ruth Brown, Mary Carey, Doris Childs, Germaine Cummins, Dorothy Danner, Madeleine Fox, Rita Gallant, Roland Gallant, Sheila Gerhardt, Ann Golini, Benjamin Golini, Mary Howe, Nancy Huppi, Kay Kenney, Philip Kerrivan, Marilyn Lahive, Dorothy Leone, Mary Lindgren, Janet McCormack, Pat Ramsey, Marie Snyder, Margaret Sullivan, Dorothy Vallon, Nancy White, Evelyn Williams, and Isabell Zickendrath. The polls closed at 8 : 00 p.m. Total number of votes cast in Precinct 1 - 386 Total number of votes cast in Precinct 2 - 469 Total number of votes cast in Precinct 3 - 297 Total number of registered voters - 6, 768 Total number of votes cast 1, 152 17% of the registered voters I, QUESTION 1 Shall the Town of Brewster be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bond issued in order to finance the design completion and the constructing, furnishing, and equipping of a new Police Station Building and the other costs incidental and related to carrying out this project and its financing?
