AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON MAINTAINING THE PRESENT
LEVEL OF THE TAX ON GROSS RECEIPTS OF UTILITIES OPERATING WITHIN
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI .
WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson, Missouri. has been notified
by the Missouri Public Service Commission that Union Electric
Company has been granted a 28% increase in electric: rates, and
WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson, Missouri presently has in
place a 5 . 65% gross receipts tax payable by Union Electric
Company, and
WHEREAS, RSMo 393.265 authorizes the City to retain its
current gross receipts tax levy.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The present 5. 65% gross receipts tax on utilities
shall remain in force.
Am Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full farce and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
