MINUTES
August 8, 1989
Committee Members Present:

Minutes from the July llth meeting will be reviewed at the September
5th meeting.
New Business:
Sam Alacano and Rich Hormaechea presented their plan to raise an
additional $400,000.00 to be allocated for the construction of the new
clubhouse and golf course improvements. The intention is to spend the
first $100,000.00 on golf course improvements. Amotmts over this
$100,000.00 would be spent on course improvements or clubhouse as
recommended by the advisory committee. Mr. Alacano is also asking for
a signed commitment from the City Council agreeing to purchase the
existing clubhouse site.
Budget:
The committee reviewed the budget for fiscal year 1989-1990. The
Committee discussed with Superintendent Craig Jackson and Bud Schmidt
any changes in the budget proposed. Mr. Jackson has asked for an
increase in personnel services across the board with regard to
part-time employment. Aside from a few minor changes in the operating
budget, the Committee, with Mr. Jackson's approval, agreed to accept
next year's budget proposal.
Budget Amendments:
The Committee recommends a $3,000.00 increase in the operating budget
for the grinding of several stumps on the course.
Golf Course Superintendent's Salary:
The Committee recommends a $2,000.00 raise for Superintendent Jackson.
Capital Improvements:
There will be an estimated $39,000.00 for capital improvements next
fiscal year. A capital improvement figure of $15,000.00 was
recommended by the Committee.
Concessionaires Contract:
The Committee recormends to the City Council that the operating
revenues be enhanced $5,500.00 from lease payments by contractor.
Meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
The next meeting will be September 5, 1989.
