Goal s of project highlight the current route encourage bicycling on route versus Jones Avenue New Business: Plan for Upcoming Bicycle Friendly Workshop with Bill Nesper, director of the Bicycle Friendly America program at the League of American Bicyclists the afternoon of Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Workshop includes riding the city’s bicycle route for recommendations. Discuss a possible annual night bicycling event with police escort to high light the need for bicycle lights. Discuss the possible reason bicyclist ride on sidewalks and ways to encourage safe riding on Hwy 80 (1st and Butler Avenue) Flashing Beacon Pedestrian Crosswalk Warning signage scheduled for installation on Hwy 80 (1st and Butler Avenue) Should city consider similar flashing mechanism for the two cross-walks on Jones Avenue to be installed on existing signage One sided cost an estimated $4,500 Two sided cost an estimate $5,500 “A quorum of city council members may be present which would constitute a meeting.”
