ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 10397 BY DELETING SECTIONS 119 . 1 AND 119.6 RELATING
TO THE ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE OF USE AND OCCUPANCY AND
ENACTING TWO NEW SECTIONS RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance . No. 10397 is hereby amended by
deleting Sections 119 . 1 and 119. 6 and enacting in lieu thereof
two new sections to read as follows :
119. 1 New buildings : A building or structure
hereafter erected shall not be used or occupied in
whole or in part until the certificate of use and
occupancy shall have been issued by the building
official. Permanent electric and natural gas service
shall not be connected to a building or structure
hereafter erected until a certificate of use and
occupancy shall have been issued and presented to the
utility company responsible for supplying the service.
119.6 Contents of certificate: When a building or
structure is entitled thereto, the building official
shall issue a certificate of use and occupancy within
ten days after written application. The certificate
shall certify compliance with the provisions of the
BOCA Basic Building Code, the Jefferson City Zoning
Ordinance, the National Electric Code, the BOCA Basic
Plumbing Code, the BOCA Basic Mechanical Code, the BOCA
Basic Property Maintenance Code, all as adopted by the
City of Jefferson, and the purpose for which the
building or structure may be used in its several parts.
The certificate of use and occupancy shall specify the
use group, in accordance with the provisions of Article
3; the type of construction as defined in Article 4;
and any special stipulations and conditions of the
building permit.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
