APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #1
REHABILITATION OF ROOSEVELT AVENUE PUMP STATION
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously awarded a
contract to Coppola Services, Inc., in the amount of $3,514,890.00 for the Rehabilitation
of Roosevelt Avenue Pump Station Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, Mott MacDonald, has
advised the Governing Body that a modification to the contract is reasonable and
necessary and has recommended that the aforesaid contract be modified in accordance
with Change Order #1, attached hereto; acrd
WHEREAS, Change Order #1 includes a change in the description of work to complete
project construction and reflects as -built quantities; and
WHEREAS, Change Order #1 provides for a net increase in the contract price in the
amount of $565,297.54, resulting in a revised contract price of $4,080,187.54, including
all change orders to date; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, Mott MacDonald, has advised that the
above described changes and/or modifications to the project were unforeseen at the time
of the award of the original contract. Acct . # C -06 -19 -101 -201
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That Change Order #1, attached hereto and made apart hereof, providing for
a net increase of $565,297.54 in the overall contract price, resulting in a
revised total contract price of $4,080,187.54 including any modifications to
the original contract price in accordance with any and all previously
approved change orders, is hereby approved.
2. That the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized and directed to
execute Change Order #1 (See Attached).
3. That a copy of this Resolution and a fully executed copy of Change Order #I
be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and to Mott
MacDonald for distribution to Coppola Services, Inc.

Change Order No. 1 — Emergency Generator Replacement
March 24, 2021
Mr. DuPont,
Per the request of the Borough of Carteret, Mott MacDonald presents the final
Contractor cost proposal for the Change Order No. 1 to the Contract 2019 -2:
Rehabilitation of Roosevelt Avenue Pump Station. This Change Order No. 1 will
compensate Coppola Services, Inc., in the amount of $565,297.54 for work
associated with the installation of a new outdoor emergency diesel generator and
tank on a new concrete pad, demolition of the existing diesel generator and
associated equipment inside the Generator Room, removal of the existing
underground fuel storage tank, modifications to the Generator Room, and relocation
of new electrical equipment on the ground floor of the pump station.
Pursuant to correspondence from Coppola to Mott MacDonald, the Contractor scope
of work for the Change Order No. 1 was submitted with an original cost proposal in
the amount of $657,591.87. Mott MacDonald performed a review of this initial cost
proposal and requested additional back -up documentation to perform a full review of
the proposal. Through review of the cost proposal and subsequent revisions from the
Contractor, Mott MacDonald negotiated a final value for the Change Order of
$565,297.54. The proposal revisions are shown in the table below.

Pursuant to the correspondence from Coppola to Mott MacDonald dated March 23,
2021, the final Contractor cost proposal amounts to $565,297.54. Based upon our
review, the value of this Change Order appears reasonable and we recommend
acceptance by the Borough of a final Contractor cost in the amount of five hundred
sixty -five thousand two hundred ninety -seven dollars and fifty -four cents
($565,297.54).
M Please note that this work will be eligible for reimbursement by the NJEIT /NJDEP
M and per acceptance by the Borough, Mott MacDonald will prepare and submit all
necessary documentation to process this Change Order. Should any questions arise

Provide materials, labor, and equipment necessary to complete all of the work associated with the Engineer's RFP for the Emergency Generator
Replacement dated February 3, 2020 at the Roosevelt Avenue Pump Station (Contract 219 -2).
The scope of the work will Include but is not limited to the installation of a new outdoor diesel generator on a new concrete pad, demolition of the
existing diesel generator and associated equipment inside the Generator Room, removal of the existing underground fuel storage tank,
