row, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the authority aforesaid that
the Mayor of the Town of Savannah 7)each, Tybee Island, for the
purpose of conveying fee - simple title to the United States the
following described property, to -wit;
All that certain lot, tract, or parcel of land lying
and being within the limits of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island,
Georgia, in Chatham County, State of Georgia, and more particu-
larly descirbed as follows: A strip of land three hundred and twen-
ty (320) feet wide between parallel lines extending from Bay 6treet
in said Savannah Beach, northward to the Saysnmah River. The
westward boundary line of said strip to be an extension of the
westward line of lot number six (6) in block number two (2).
The eastward boundary mine of said strip to be a line parallel
with and twenty (20) feet eastward from the eastEd line of
Stone Street.

The regular meeting of Council was held to -night at 8:00 p.m.,
in the Council Chamber, and was attended by Mayor McMillan, who
presided, and Councilmen Tant, Farrell, Kreitzer, Mayer, Haar,
May, Town Attorney Dutton, also George VI.Hunt, R.L.Cooper, A.P.
Solomon, M.R.Young, Mrs. Cecil Carter.
Mr. Solomon stated that in regard to the installing of fire
plugs in the vicinity of Campbell Street the cost would be about
$950.00, healso stated that the TWW was planning the installation
of a.nothr well, running a large main down ThirdsAvenue, and
putting in 7 new fire plugs, and that if the plugs were put in
at Campbell Street at this time, then the new well could not be
installed. Mr. Solomon, was excused.
Mr. R.L.Cooper presented an aerial map showing a comilete picture
of the island, which he offered to sell to the town for $125.00
Mr. Cooper was excused.
George 'aa'.Hunt an_' Dudley Hull presented plans for building 40
homes in the Bethesda sub - division to be known as the Rainbow
Commtnity Center, at ca cost of'about $50,000.00, they requested
advise as to what the approximate assessments would be on a de-
velopement of this kind, Mr. Hunt was informed that the matter
would be gone into and he would be notified, after which he and
Mr Hull were excused.

The minutes of the minutes of the meeting of November 7th were
read and approved.
The Mayor informed Council that, he had submitted the propos-
itdon of the Torn relative to the building occupied by Mrs. Willis
to Mr. Strong aridthe considered it fair and would submit it to the
Bard of Education for their approval.
The Mayor informed Council that Mr. J.M.Lang had written hire that
the cost of laying sewer pipe on Eighteenth Street and Chatham
Avenue was too great and that he would dismiss the thought of
building two cottages on his property this year.
The Mayor informed Council that Mr. D.G.Nichols had planned to
attended to- night's meeting, but due to having to be at another
was unable to attend.
Counculman Haar moved that ;.100.00 be donated to the Savarnah
Beach Fire Department, Councilman Mayer seconded and the motion
passed unanamously.
Town Attorney Dutton informed Councilthat the land where it is
propsed to put the Coast Guard Station at Estill Station, is not
owned by the Tybee Beach Company but is owned by the CRR. It
was decided that Mr. Dutton handle the matter the CRR with a view
of buying the required land.
The Mayor._informed Council that D.G.Nichols bad stated that he had
made arrangements with the TBCo, thru 1 `.F.Lynes,jr, to get about
5000 yards of mud for use at the beach erosion project, and that

Councilman Tant moved that not over $10.00 be donated for the pur-

Councilman Haar moved that D.G.Nichols, be notified that nothing
must 15U purchased for use by the VJPA fortthe account of the town
by anyone other than the Town Clerk and nothing over )50.00, any-
thing above that amount must be approved by chairman of Finance
Committee and the Mayor and Clerk „Councilman Mayer seconded and
the motion passed unanamously.
Councilman Kreitzer moved bills covering materials purchased for
use on the beach protection project be approved, the total of
which is , Councilman Mayer seconded and the elation passed
unanamously.
Councilman Kreitzer moved that a committee be appointed be appoint-
ed to investigate the possibility of laying off men or cutting sal-
aries for the remainder of the fiscal year. The matter was referred
to the Police Committee and to the Public Works Committee. The Town
Attorney was requested to give his opinion relative to the matter,
The Mayor called a meeting of the several committees for Wednesday,
at 6 :00 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
Councilman Kreitzer moved that the following resolution be adopted,
Councilman Mayer seconded and the motion aEsed unanamously;
RESOLUTION.
Be it resolved by the Mayor and Councilman of the Town of Savannah
Bead, Tybee Island, Georgia, in Council assembled.
WHEREAS, the Town of Savannah Beach, h$6_outstanding 28,000.00
worth of Public Improvements Bonds and 32,000.00 in Town Hall Bonds,
and,
WHEREAS, these bonds and interest coupons attached thereto,
are due and payable on August 1, 1939, for a period of twenty years,
and,
WHEREAS at the time said bonds were sold by the said Town
of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, by inadvertence, a depository wee
not named for the payment of the interest coupons and the retirement
of said bonds, now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the authority aforesaid, that

the Savannah Bank and Trust Company of Savannah Georgia, be and
is herby named depository for the interest coupons and the retire-
ment of the 328,000.00 bond issue, known as the Public Improve-
ment Bonds, and the :2,000.00 bond issue, known as the Town Hall
Bonds.
There being no further business Council adjourned subject to the

A special meeting of Council was held to -night at 8:00 p.n., iI
the Council Chamber, and was attended by the Mayor, who presided,
and Councilmen Tant, May, Farrell, Haar, Mayer, Kreitzer.
The meeting was for the following purposes;
Receive report of Finanace Committee.
Receive report of Police Committee.
Receive report of Assessment Committee.
Receive report of Public °Works Committee.
Reconsider request of Mrs. J.S. Cafiero to build
garage and servants quarters closer to adjoining property
owners line than is allowed by building code.

Chairman Kre4Azer of the Finance Committee reported that to
balance budget, that two positions be cut out (1) the position
of Supt of. Public Works, Building and Plumbing Inspector (2),
drop one policeman, after some discussion Councilman Myer :'
moved vac effort be made to reduce expected deficit by end of
fiscal year, Council Kreitzer seconded and the motion passed
uaanmously.
Chairman Haar of the Public Works Committee moved that the pos-
ition of Supt of Public 'Works, Building and Plumbing Inspector
be abolished, effective on and after this date and that the
salary be paid for this month, Councilman Mayer seconded and in
the voting a tie vote came up, Mayor McMillan breaking the tie
and deciding in favor of the motion. those voting YES; Haar, May,
Mayer, McMillan, those voting NO; Tant, Harrell, Kreitzer . The

Chairman May of the Police Committee recommends thatone policeman

The motion passed.
Chairman Tent of the Assessment Commitee moved that assessments
on the buildings in the proposed Rainbow Community Center be fixed
at 1/3 of their value for tax purposes, that the land assessments
remain as is and provided further that 40 buildings are constructed
by July lst, 1939, Councilman Mayer seconded.,in°the yvotang:9 °those
