1p AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, PROVIDING FOR THE
IMPROVEMENT OF BROOKS STREET FROM WEST MCCARTY STREET TO INDUSTRIAL
DRIVE, BY CURBING AND GUTTERING WITH PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council passed and approved on September 2,
1986, its resolution finding and declaring the necessity of improving
Brooks Street from West McCarty Street to Industrial Drive, in the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, by curbing and guttering with Portland
cement concrete. That resolution has been duly published according to
law for seven (7) consecutive insertions, in the Post-Tribune, a daily
newspaper printed and published in the City of Jefferson, Missouri.
No protest against the contemplated improvement has been filed with
the City Clerk by a majority of the resident owners of property along
said sections of the roadway liable for the costs of the improvement,
and who own a majority of the front feet along the portion of the
roadway to be improved.
Section 2. The portion of roadway described in Section 1 shall
be built in accordance with the plans and specifications submitted by
the Director of Public Works and filed in the office of the City
Clerk. The cost of $3.33 per front foot for curb and gutter, $6.00
per square yard for sidewalk, and $8.00 per square yard for driveway
approach shall be charged and levied as a special assessment against
the real estate abutting and fronting on the improvement, and special
tax bills shall be issued therefore, as provided in Chapter 33 of the
Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and the revised statutes of
the State of Missouri.
Section 3 . The Director of Public Works is hereby instructed and
authorized to advertise for bids for this improvement.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
