An Ordinance Amending the Moab City land Use Code, Planned Unit
Developments, Section 17.66.05.0.B.5 to clarify the term "hard -surfaced" and to
allow all weather, non -paved driveways and parking areas, approved by the Public
Works Director, that service Planned Unit Developments with 3 or fewer dwelling
units.
WHEREAS, the City of Moab supports Planned Unit Developments (PUD) that are
designed safely, efficiently and reasonably; and, WHEREAS, the existing PUD
Ordinance at 17.66.050.B.5 requirement for paved driveways and paved parking when
development is three (3) dwelling units or fewer is excessive; and, WHEREAS, such an
action would bring the treatment of driveways and parking spaces of Planned Unit
Developments more in conformance with subdivision regulations where the lots are 1/4
acre or larger.
NOW THEREFORE the City of Moab amends the PUD Ordinance 17.66.050 as follows:
All parking spaces, parking areas and driveways must be hard -surfaced (paved)
and properly drained with no drainage running across public or private walkways.
Hard surface shall be paved concrete, asphalt or other pavement systems that
perform similarly for the intended use as approved by the Public/works Director.
All weather, non -paved driveways and parking areas may be permitted within
Planned Unit Developments containing 3 (three) or fewer total dwelling units. All
non -paved driveways and parking areas shall be approved by the Public Works
Director.
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
