PUBLIC HEARING
REZONING
RE: Request submitted by H. J. Neutzler, Jr. , to rezone
approximately 6. 95 acres at 1600 Southwest Boulevard
from RA-1 (multiple dwelling) to RA-2 (multiple
dwelling) .
This property, which is located on the west side of
Southwest Boulevard and south of Memorial Hospital, was rezoned
from RS-2 (single family) to RA-1 (multiple dwelling) in 1984 .
Because of the high cost of extending sewer to the property, the
applicant desires RA-2 (multiple dwelling) zoning. The RA-2
district permits a higher density of multiple dwellings than does
the RA-1 district . The required lot area per family is 1, 500
square feet in the RA-2 district and 2, 500 square feet in the RA-
1 district. The applicant also feels the property has potential
for office use because of proximity to the hospital. Offices are
allowed as a Conditional Use in the RA-2 district; offices are
not a Conditional Use in the RA-1 district.
AWIL
No one appeared in oppc i..tion to the request . The Planning
and Zoning Commission, by unanimous vote, recommends that this
request be approved.
