AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, DECLARING
CERTAIN WEAPONS IN THE CUSTODY OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO BE
SURPLUS PROPERTY, AUTHORIZING A PETITION REQUESTING THE COLE
COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT FOR AN ORDER FOR THE DISPOSAL, OF THE WEAPONS
AND AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO CONDUCT THE DISPOSAL OF
THE WEAPONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council finds that weapons in the
custody of the Police Department described in Exhibit A attached
hereto is surplus property, and as such represents a burdensome
cost for storage and maintenance, and that the weapons are no
longer needed for any public purpose.
Section 2. The City Counselor is hereby authorized to
petition the Cole County Circuit Court requesting an order for
the disposal of the weapons described in Exhibit A.

Section 3. On the issuance of an order by the Cole County
Circuit Court approving the disposal of the weapons described in
Exhibit A, the Police Department is hereby authorized to conduct
the disposal of the weapons described in Exhibit A. The disposal
of the weapons shall be conducted in a manner most beneficial to
the City.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
