AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING SECTION
16-207 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, PERTAINING TO THE
PROCEDURE USED TO ESTABLISH A GROSS RECEIPTS TAX LEVY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 16-207 of the City Code of the City of
Jefferson is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 16-207. Annual Review of Lem
In July of each year there shall be a Public Hearing to
determine levy on utility gross receipts tax as provided for
herein, for the subsequent city fiscal year. Such public
hearing shall be called by the City Council or by a
committee of the Council appointed by the Mayor. After a
public hearing, if the rate to be levied for the subsequent
year is different from that currently levied, the council
shall by ordinance establish a new gross receipts tax levy
for the subsequent fiscal year. The existing gross receipts
tax levy shall continue if no change in the rate is directed
by the Council.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after the date of its passage and approval.
