AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , REPEALING
SECTION 1-17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI ,
DEFINING THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION
PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson was, on
June 3, 1987 , presented a verified petition requesting that the
city annex the following described unincorporated area of land
contiguous to the corporate city limits:
Part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter
of Section 33, Township 45 North, Range 12 West, in the
County of Cole, Missouri, being more particularly
described as follows:
From the southeast corner of said Section 33; thence N
05° 04' 57" W, along the easterly line of Forest Gate
Subdivision, Section One, per plat of record in Plat
Book 11, Page 209 , Cole County Recorder's Office ,
670.55 feet, to the northeast corner of said Forest
Gate Subdivision, Section One , and the point of
beginning of this description; thence S 850 01' 11" W,
along the northerly line of said Forest Gate
Subdivision, Section One, 793.50 feet; thence N 240 16 '
11" E, 446.19 feet; thence S 650 33' 19" E, 556.71
feet; thence S 810 38' 23" E, 92 .93 feet to the Section
Line; thence S 05° 04 ' 57" E, along said Section Line,
94.36 feet to the point of beginning. Containing in

WHEREAS, the petition requesting said annexation was signed
by the owners of all fee interest of record in all real property
located within the area proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, after giving due and legal notice, as required by
law, the City Council did, on July 20, 1987, hold a public
hearing concerning the annexation of the unincorporated area of
land described above; and
WHEREAS, at the above described public hearing, the City
Council did determine that the annexation was reasonable and
necessary to the proper development of the City and, further, did
determine the City has the ability to furnish normal municipal
services to the area within a reasonable length of time; and
WHEREAS, no written objection to the proposed annexation was
filed with the City Council in the seven ( 7 ) days following the
public hearing.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Section 1-17 of the Code of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby repealed and a new Section 1-17 is
hereby enacted, which shall read as follows:
Section 1-17 . City Boundaries.
The limits and boundaries of the city are extended, defined and
declared to be as follows , in the counties of Cole and Callaway,

ANNEXATION ORDINANCE
The City Council' s public bearing for the voluntary
annexation described below was held on July 20, 1987. The period
for filing protests has elapsed. Since no protests were filed,
the annexation ordinance may be introduced.

PUBLIC HEARING FOR
VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION
RE: Petition submitted by the Ken Vaughan Construction
Company, Inc. , Kenneth Vaughan, President, for the
voluntary annexation of 3.35 acres of land at the north
end of Dover Street .
This tract is .located immediately to the north of Forest
Gate Subdivision. It provides for the continuation of Dover
Drive, a sewage lift station and access to the lift station. It
is contiguous to the existing corporate limits. All other
voluntary annexation statutory requirements have been met.
This annexation is recommended by the Departments of
Planning and Code Enforcement and Public Works . At its meeting
of July 9 , 1987 , the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended,
by unanimous vote, that this tract be annexed. No one appeared
in opposition to the annexation.
Since there is a period for the filing of protests following
the public hearing, an ordinance will not be introduced on July
20, 1987.
