A special meeting of Council was held to -night at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber, and was attended by Chairman of Council Haar, who presided, and Councilmen Tant, Farrell, Mayer and Kreitzer. Themmeeting was called for the following purposes; Enact Ordinance fixing fee to be charged for sale of fireworks. Authorize purchase of mater- ials for Town Hall project, and Beach Protection project. Authorize payment of bill of TWW for $492.50 for water furnished for Beach Brotection project. Authorize payment of balance due F.M.Dunlevy for drawing pland for Town Hall. Councilman Tant moved that a bill of materials needed for the Town Hall, approved by D.G.Nichols, be purchased, Councilman Kreitzer seconded and the motion passed unanamously. Councilman Mayer moved that a bill of materials needed for the Beach Protection project, approved by D.G.Nichols, be purchased, Councilman Kreitzer seconded and the motion passed unanamously. Councilman Kreitzer moved that the balance bif .$300.00 due F.M.Dunlevy for drawing plans and specifications be paid, tCoun- cilman Tant seconded and the motion passed unanamously. Councilman Tant moved that the bill of the TWW for $492.50 for furnishing water to the beach protection project be paid, Coun- cilman Kreitzer seconded and the ;notion passed unanamously. Councilman Tant moved that the following Ordinance be adopted, Councilman Mayer seconded and the motion passed unanamously; ORDINANCE. 157 158 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THAT CERTAIN ORDINANCE "�NTTTIED "AN ORD4 INANCE TO PROVIDE FURTHER TAXATION OF REAL AND PERSOIaAL PROPERTY IN THE TOWN OF SAVANNAH BEACH, TYBEE ISLAND, GEORGIA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING MAY 1, 1938, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE RATE OF LICENSES FOR DOING BUSINESS IN SAID TOWN OF SAVANNAH BEACH, TYBEE ISLAND, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING AORIL 30, 1939, BY ADDING THE FOLLOWING LICENSE AT THE END OF SECTION; ANY PERSON,FIRM,OR CORPORATION WITHIN THE C0RP0T ATE IMITS OF SAID TOWN SELLIN G, OFF- ERING FOR SALE, OR GIVING AWAY ANY FIREARMS, EXPLOSIVES, AND /OR FIREWORK3, EACH ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (:100.00), AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. SECTIONI : Be it enacted by the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and it is hereby enacted by the authority afotesaid that that certain Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance to provide further taxation of real and personal prop- erty in the Town Of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, for the fiscal year coirnencing May 1, 1938, and to provide for the rate of licenses for doing business in said town of Savannah Beach, Tybee, Island, for the fiscal year ending Aoril 30, 1939, passed by Council on the day of, 1938, be and the same i s hereby amended by adding the following licenses at the and of section 4; Any person, firm, or corporation within the corporate limits of said Town selling, offering for sale, or giving away any firearms, explosives, and/or fireworks, each One Hundred Dollars( 100.00). SECTION 2. Be it further enacted by the authlrity afore- said that all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance be and the sa'e are hereby repealed. The regular meeting of Council was held to -night at 8:00 p.m., in the Council C narnber, and was attended. by Mayor McMillan, who presided, and C©uncilrnen i'reitzer, Farrell, May, Tent, Haar, and Donald G.Nichols, Major Wi1Soni, Capt, Ivey, Mrs. Ivey and Town Attorney Dutton. Major Wilson stated that all dogs on the post at Fort Screven had been innocultaed andhe suggested that the town pass an ord- inance reguting that all dogs within the town limits be innocu- lated also. Mrs. Ivey read a communication from the P- -T Assn requesting that the building now occupied by Mrs. Eugenia Willis, the principal of the school, and now bei:_g moved, be placed in a suitable loc9 ation. Mr. Nichols requested Council to state what they thought of the progress of the work deing done on the beach protection project, and if they had any suggestions to make, the opinion of the Board was that everything was going along exceptionally weal --
