AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CHANGING,
AMENDING, AND MODIFYING THE ZONING MAP OF THE ZONING CODE OF THE
CITY OF JEFFERSON, BY REZONING THE NORTHERLY 140 FEET OF INLOT
686 FROM RA-2 (MULTI FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) to C-2 (GENERAL
COMMERCIAL) .
WHEREAS, IT APPEARS THAT THE PROCEDURES SET FORTH IN THE ZONING
CODE RELATING TO ZONING HAVE IN ALL MATTERS BEEN COMPLIED WITH.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The following described real estate is rezoned
from RA-2 (multi family residential) to C-2 ( general commercial) .
The northerly 140 feet of Inlot 686
SECTION 2 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.

REZONING PUBLIC HEARING
STAFF REPORT
RE: A request filed by Leonard B. and Winifred E. Garrett
to rezone the northerly 140 feet of Inlot 686 from RA-2
(multi family residential) to C-2 (general commercial) .
This lot is located across the alley from the Park Inn
(formerly Rodeway Inn) . It has 104 feet of frontage on West Elm
Street and has a depth of 198 feet. There are two existing
residential structures near the front of the lot.
The prospective purchaser' s plans are to pave the rear of
the lot and rent the parking spaces. Off-street parking is
permitted use in the C-2 District. The rezoning would be an
enlargement of the C-2 District which is north of the alley.
The applicant , at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting
of October 8, 1987 , presented several letters in support of the
request from adjoining land owners. No one appeared in
qP opposition. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends that
this request be approved.
