Apinyakul to rezone Lot 1, Hawthorne Hill Point Subdivision from M-2 (general industrial) and M-3 (planned industrial) to RS-1 ( single family residential) . Hawthorne Hill Point Subdivision is a one lot subdivision located on the south side of Route 179 at the city limits. The lot has 300 feet of frontage on the highway and has a depth of 435 feet. This 3-acre lot is tree covered. This land was annexed into the City in 1987 and then zoned to M-2 and M-3 . In 1982 at the public hearing on the Plan of Intent for the proposed annexation, those present were told the land would be zoned for industrial use when it was annexed. In 1985, Mr. and Mrs. Apinyakul purchased the lot and planned to construct their personal residence on it. The lot is currently vacant but the owners would like to build their house in the near IV future. A single family dwelling is not a permitted use in industrial districts. The large lot size and the existing tree cover will provide a buffer from future industrial uses. The applicants know the land east and south of their property is zoned for industrial purposes. No one appeared in opposition to the request . On October 8, 1987 , the Planning and Zoning Commission, by unanimous vote, recommended that this request be approved. D. R.
