HomeMy Public PortalAboutPRR 14-1337From: John Breuer [ mailto :johnbreuerarchitect @gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2014 9:41 PM To: Bill Thrasher Subject: 9 -3 -141 want a public record - hewlett Itrs PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST Pursuant to Article 1, Section 24 of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 119.07 of the Florida Statutes I wish to make a public records request of your agency for the following records: Any letters written by E.Hewlwtt Kent in the Town's record. If you contend that any of the records I am seeking, or any portion thereof, are exempt from inspection or disclosure please cite the specific exemption as required by § I19.07(1)(e) of the Florida Statutes and state in writing and with particularity the basis for your conclusions as required by § 119.07(1)(f) of the Florida Statutes. Take note of §I19.07(c) Florida Statues and your affirmative obligation to (1) promptly acknowledge receipt of this public records request and (2) make a good faith effort which "includes making reasonable efforts to determine from other officers or employees within the agency whether such a record exists and, if so, the location at which the record can be accessed." I am, therefore, requesting that you notify every individual in possession of records that may be responsive to this public records request to preserve all such records on an immediate basis. If any records are readily available, please produce those records first without waiting for all responsive records to be available. Produce the less readily available records as soon as they are available. If your agency maintains the record being sought in an electronic format please produce the records in the original electronic format in which they were created or received. See § 119.01(2)(f), Florida Statutes. If you anticipate the production of any of these public records to exceed $1.00 please notify me in advance of their production with a written estimate of the total cost. Please be sure to itemize any estimates so as to indicate the total number of pages and/or records, as well as to distinguish the cost of labor and materials. If any records may be produced for less than $1.00, please produce those records first while waiting to obtain authorization from me to produce more costly records. Do not incur any costs that you expect me to pay which are greater than $1.00 until first obtaining my authorization to do so. All responses to this public records request should be made in writing to the following email address: iohnbreuerarchitect(gttail.com E. HEWLETT KENT 570 MIDDLE ROAD GULF MEA.M, FLORIDA 33483 AREA CODE 561 776.7065 May 30, 1997 Mr. E. Scott Harrington Town of Gulf Stream Town Hall 100 Sea Road Gulf Stream, FL 33483 Dear Scott: Joan orthwein informed me a seat on the Architectural Review and Planning Board is opening up. I would like to be considered as a potential candidate for the position. The challenges of maintaining the integrity and feel of the Town, while not blocking "progress" is an interesting and delicate matter. The Architectural Review and Planning Board is a great forum to help balance the sometimes grandiose designs of persons building and renovating houses against the desire of the community to maintain the "feel" and beauty of the Town. The Planning Boards "Gulf Stream Design Manual" is already a fantastic and comprehensive tool to help define acceptable and appropriate architectural design. Although I have no formal background in architectural design, I have always had a keen interest in the design process that yields a structure that is esthetically pleasing and appropriate for its surroundings. I have had the fortune to grow up in family houses designed by well -known architects including John Volk and Howard Major. My maternal Great Grandfather was a fairly well known architect in his time and is more recently remembered for his design of the ceiling mural currently being restored in New York's Grand Central Station. I am currently a trustee of the Vermont Historical Society Trust which maintains Kents Corner in Montpelier, Vermont, designed and built by Abdiel Kent my paternal Great Great Grandfather. I am also a Trustee of the Atwater Kent Museum Trust which helps to maintain the Museum that my paternal Grandfather Atwater Kent gave to Philadelphia as a museum of the history of Philadelphia. I suppose that a great part of my interest in Architecture stems from being raised in a family which has always been interested in building, maintaining and preserving the integrity of structures and items that have endured because of their inherently correct and balanced design. It would be a great pleasure and honor to serve on the Architectural Review and Planning Board of Gulf Stream. Sincerely yours, E.
