AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING
SECTIONS 2-46 AND 2-47 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, BY ADDING SUBSECTIONS CREATING AND ASSIGNING DUTIES TO
A STANDING COUNCIL COMMITTEE TO REVIEW ALL PROPOSED APPOINTMENTS
TO BOARDS, COMMITTEES, AND COMMISSIONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2-46 of the Code of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended to create an additional
council committee by the addition of a third subsection to
subpart (a) to read as follows:
(3) Committee on boards, committees and commissions to be
composed of the most senior councilman from each ward.
Section 2. Section 2-47 of the Code of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended by the addition of a third
subsection to subpart (a) to read as follows:
(3 ) Duties of the Committee on Boards, Committees and
Commissions. The committee shall consider all matters
involving the appointment of individuals to the various City
boards, committees and commissions. The committee shall
review all proposed appointments and make recommendations
and report to the council prior to any action by the council
on approval of an appointment. The committee shall make its
report and recommendation on any appointment within thirty
days of the date on which it is notified by the Mayor of a
proposed appointment.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and approval.
