AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING CHAPTER
8 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS IT PERTAINS
TO CABLE TELEVISION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 8 of the Code of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, shall be amended as follows:
Section 8-13.02 Members, Qualifications, Terms shall be
amended to read as follows:
A. The Commission shall be comprised of seven (7) members,
all of whom shall be registered voters residing in the City
of Jefferson, Missouri. Six (6) members shall be appointed
by the Mayor from the citizens at large with the approval of
the City Council. Five of the citizen members shall be
designated as representing each of the five wards. The sixth
member shall be designated as an at large representative. At
least one (1) member shall be appointed from each ward. One
Albk qP (1 ) member shall be a City Council member elected by the City
Council to serve for a one (1) year term. One (1) alternate
member shall be elected by the City Council from its
membership to serve in the absence of the Council
Representative to the Commission. The initial terms of the
members appointed from the citizens at large was as follows:
Two (2) members to serve for a one (1 ) year term;
Two (2) members to serve for a two (2) year term;
Two (2). members to serve for a three (3) year term;
Thereafter, all commission citizen members who represent wards
shall serve full three-year terms.
The citizen member at-large shall serve for a one (1) year
term. While this position shall be from the citizens at
large, no ward shall have a person selected for this position
twice before every ward has had at least one representative
chosen. In subsequent years, the rotation between wards shall
continue so that no ward shall ever be in a position of having
had a person selected more than one time greater than any
other ward. Any vacancies on the commission shall be filled
by appointment and approval in like manner for the unexpired
term. All members shall continue to serve until their
successors shall have been appointed and qualified.

Section 2. In order to avoid confusion over the current
• makeup of the Commission and to provide for a smooth transition
from the old format to the new, the current members of the
commission shall continue to serve their current terms but the
positions held by each under the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby designated as follows:

*It should be noted that the passage of this ordinance effectively
reduces the term of Morris Trout by one year.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
