AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE PART OF A PUBLIC RIGHT-
OF-WAY IN SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND
THE CLERK OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE ALL WRITTEN INSTRUMEN'T'S REQUIRED
TO CONFIRM IN THE OWNERS OF THE ADJACENT LAND THEIR REVERSIONARY
RIGHTS IN THE VACATED RIGHT-OF-WAY.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the City Council of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, that the owner of all land that abuts on
land that is described hereinafter in Section 1 of this ordinance
has petitioned the City Council to discontinue same as a right-
of-way for a public thoroughfare and vacate same, and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not in-
convenience the public or the citizens of the city to discontinue
as a right-of-way for a public thoroughfare and vacate the area
described in Section Z of this ordinance, NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, hereby declares it necessary, reasonable and proper to
discontinue as a right-of-way for a public thoroughfare and
forever vacate the following described right-of-way in said city:
The southerly 10 feet of the following described
tract of land, being a part of the west one-half of
the northeast quarter of Section 12, Township 44, Range
12, described as: Beginning at a point on the southerly
right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, said point
being south 64 degrees east (magnetic) and 726 feet from
the quarter section corner on the north side of Section
12; thence from the point of beginning south 59 degrees
east along and with the above mentioned right-of-way line,
267 .2 feet; thence south 5 degrees east 33 .9 feet; thence
north 59 degrees west, and parallel to the Missouri Pacific
Railroad right-of-way, 266.8 feet; thence north 4 degrees
west 33.6 feet to the point of beginning. Being a strip
of land 30 feet in width parallel to the Missouri Pacific
Railroad, the north line coinciding with the southerly
right-of-way line of said Railroad.
SECTION 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owner
of the abutting property to the land above described, as pro-
vided by the laws of the State of Missouri, is hereby expressly
confirmed, and the Mayor and Clerk of the City are hereby
authorized and directed to execute all written instruments
required to confirm in the abutting property owner its
reversionary rights in the land hereinabove described and hereby
vacated.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
