ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 7469 OF THE CITY BY REPEALING SECTION 3 THEREOF,
ESTABLISHING THE OCCUPATION LICENSE TAX FOR WHOLESALE
DEALERS AND JOBBERS OF CIGARETTES, AND ENACTING A NEW
PROVISION RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Section 3 of Ordinance No. 7469 of the City, establishing
the occupation license tax for wholesale dealers and jobbers of cigarettes at
a rate of $1. 50 per thousand for each and all cigarettes sold, offered,
delivered or displayed for sale, is, and it is hereby repealed.
-� Section 2. There is hereby enacted a new provision relating to the
occupation license tax of wholesale dealers and jobbers of cigarettes to be
known as Section 3 of Ordinance Number 7469 which shall read in words and
figures as follows:
"Section 3. Occupation license. In addition to the
license provided for in the preceding section, every
wholesale dealer or jobber shall pay an occupation
license tax at a rate of $2. 00 per thousand for each
and all cigarettes sold, offered, delivered or displayed
for sale. "
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after- its passage and approval. as of July 1, 1968.
