1. Call to order
The meeting was called to order at 6:30PM.
2. Declaration of a quorum
A quorum was present.

6. Septic variance- 20 Captain Elijah Cobb Road- 300' setback to pond for building addition and septic system
This started at TOOPM.
Stephanie Sequin presented to the Board.
This is an existing 5 -bedroom home on a 54,600sf lot on Cobb's Pond.
The owners are proposing to enlarge the kitchen and add an inground pool.
There is no increase in flow.
The entire property is within 300' of the pond.
Flow is towards the pond.
SAS will be installed at the SW part of the lot.
It will comprise of 3 shallow leaching trenches and will be perpendicular to groundwater flow.
It will be installed as far away from the pond as possible.
Variances requested are:
• To allow the proposed SAS to be 238'frorn Cobb's Pond
• To allow the reserve are to be 236' from Cobb's Pond
• To allow the top of the trench to be 4' below grade

The system will be vented and H2O rated.
KCP- asked if any thought was given to nutrient reduction.
SS — from a financial standpoint this is already a very expensive system.
AVH- noted that they will most likely get 10.5 feet of separation from the bottom of the SAS and groundwater.

7. Septic variance — 283 Hamilton Cartway — 300' setback to pond for building additions and septic system
John O'Reilly presented to the Board.
The existing 3 -bedroom home will be updated but remain a 3 bedroom.
The existing system will be replaced.
There are ponds on both sides, the system is downgradient from Greenland Pond and upgradient from Long Pond.
A Drip Dispersal system is going to be installed because it allows for slow release of effluent and a good contact system to the soil
below.
System will be 5.5 feet above the estimated high groundwater (which has an adjustment of about 4 feet).
System will have a 2 -compartment septic tank and pump chamber.
System will have pressure dosing.
There is a private well on the property that will be relocated.
Property is 77,970sf. 40% of it is wetlands (to the east).
The Conservation Commission approved this proposal last week.
JK -asked how the Perc Rite System worked.
JO- explained how it would be installed and noted that there will be a liner around the leaching area.
KCP-spoke about the "access points on the pressure dose systems.
AVH-explained it to the Board.

8. Health Department staff report: complaint investigation on mini -donkeys at 6 Seamans Lane
AVH-based on a complaint that was received, she and Sherrie McCullough, Assistant Health Director went out to do an inspection.
They did speak with the homeowner.
Property is in great shape.
No violations found.
No odors of significance.
The owner is following what she was instructed to do when the permit was granted.
Manure is picked up twice a day and taken off property.
There is a drainage issue on the road in front of the property that is being addressed by the DPW.
The catch basin does not flow directly into the pond. Per the DPW Superintendent, it was capped off years ago.
KCP-the complaints brought up were resolved by this inspection. The owner is operating well within the requirements of the Animal
Regulations.
9. Pressure Dose systems update
AVH- no new inspections were received. A few inquiries from homeowners. The school is still working with their operator to see what
can be done to get a proper inspection done.
One of the I/A non-compliant systems has entered into a contract with an operator, and they are trying to determine why the numbers
are so high.

10. Presentation and discussion on MA Water Resources Authority (MWRC) and EPA's plan for removal of science
advisory board of wastewater discharge
Item was continued until the full Board is present.
11. Liaison Reports
PH- COA is still waiting for UMASS to analyze data for the 5 -year plan.
AA- have not met since last meeting.
