AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON MISSOURI, PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF FRANKLIN STREET FROM THE WEST CURB LINE OF MONROE STREET IN A WESTERLY DIRECTION TO THE PRESENTLY IMPROVED PORTION OF FRANKLIN STREET, LYING BETWEEN MONROE STREET AND MADISON STREET, BY PAVING AND GUTTERING WHERE NECESSARY WITH PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE. r,. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS : } , SECTION 1. Whereas, it was heretofore found and declared by °t= the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by its resolution passed and approved on July 15 , 1968, necessary to ' pave and curb, where necessary, the roadway of Franklin Street ' from the west curb line of Monroe Street in a westerly direction to the presently improved portion of Franklin Street, lying f between Monroe Street and Madison Street; and it appearing to the City Council that said resolution has been duly published according to law for seven (7) consecutive insertions in the Post Tribune, a daily newspaper, printed and published in the City of Jefferson, Missouri; and having heard those who desire to be heard on the matter concerning the paving of said street, and after finding that portion of Franklin Street to be improved, extending from the west curb line of Monroe Street in a westerly direction to the presently improved portion of Franklin Street, lying between Monroe Street and Madison Street, is .less than 1200 feet in length and is between and will connect two paved and improved streets, the City Council finds and re-affirms the necessity of doing such work and making such street improvement. SECTION 2. That the said roadway of Franklin Street from the west curb line of Monroe Street in a westerly direction to the presently improved portion of Franklin Street, lying between Monroe Street and Madison Street be graded, paved, and curbed i where necessary, with Portland Cement concrete, in accordance ' with the plans and specifications submitted by the Director of Public Works and filed in the office of the City Clerk, and that j� the total cost of the aforesaid work be charged and levied as a special assessment against the real estate abutting and fronting �i I ` f { + -2- on the said contemplated improvement and that special tax bills shall be issued therefor, as provided by the Statutes of the State of Missouri and Sections 826 through 829 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956. SECTION 3 . The City's Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and instructed to advertise for bids for this improve- ment. SECTION 4.
