AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING A
SCHOOL BUS ZONE IN THE CITY, REGULATING THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHI-
CLES THEREIN, PRESCRIBING A PRESUMPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. School Bus Zone; Use of The driver of a vehicle,
other than a school bus, shall not park it at any time between the
hours on any day mentioned on the following roadway:
(60) Old Moreau Heights School. On the north half
of Hillcrest Street between two points located 166
feet- and 266 feet west of the west curb of Moreau
Drive, between 9:00 and 10:00 A.M. , or between 1:00
and 2:00 P.M. , on any day the above named school is
attended by children.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of Section 1, proof that the vehicle described in the
complaint was parked in violation of Section 1, together with proof
that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such
parking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a
prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the perso
who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time during
which, such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. A person violating this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be fined not more than one hundred ($100.00) dollars or be
imprisoned in ail for not more than ninety P � y (90) days, or be
punished by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage a pp ova .
