AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY, PRESCRIBING
A PRESUMPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY, 21 TWANC"O.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Prohibited. The operator of a vehicle
shall not park the same on the south half of St. Mary's Boulevard
at any point east, and within seventy-five (75) feet, of the east
curb of Delaware Street.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of Section 1, proof that the vehicle described in the
complaint was parked in violation of Section 1, together with proof
that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such
parking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a
prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person
who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time during
hich, such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. A person violating this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be fined not more than one hundred ($100.00) dollars or be
imprisoned .in jail for not more than ninety (90) days, or be
punished by both such fine and. imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
