AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY, PRESCRIBING
A PRESUMPTI0N AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
ISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Prohibited. The operator of a vehicle
shall not park the same at any place on the north half of High
Street lying between two points located 73 feet and 125
feet east of the east curb of Chestnut Street.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of Section 1, proof that the vehicle described in the
complaint was parked in violation of Section 1, together with proof
that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such
parking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a
prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the perso
who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time during
hich, such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. A person violating this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall.
be fined not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more

Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
