Jim told her that unfortunately, the committee did not have jurisdiction on that but to check with the building department when construction was due to take place. • There were no other abutters present. • Steven made a motion to approve as presented and George seconded the motion. A vote was taken and H-23-217 was approved as presented. Informal Discussion Chris Platts, 0 Run Hill Road, Map 35 Lot 32 • Chris Platts, the homeowner, was at the meeting. • Jim asked for a sample of the siding he had asked for in the previous meeting and the applicant showed it to the committee. Carol did not think the material was appropriate for the Historic District and neither did the rest of the committee. Chris explained that he chose that siding because the house was ICF (insulated concrete form) not just the foundation which made it the attachment of the siding only every 18" apart. Jim asked why he couldn't just use strappings for clapboard (or any other traditional siding) if it was a possibility and reminded the applicant that the committee could only judge the materials by their appearance and not the insulation benefits. Chris asked if the committee would have a problem with Hardie board instead to give the shingle effect and Jim told him that they would need to see a sample first. • The committee finished reviewing the application and said that they did not have an issue with the garage doors or the black casement windows even though they usually didn't approve those but that it needed historic sills. 4 0< 01LIM4 ®pews"TOWN OF BREWSTER o _ OLD KINGS HIGHWAY REGIONAL DISTRICT PHONE: (508) 896-3701 EXT 1125 HISTORIC DISTRICT 2198 MAIN STREET EMAIL: HOCMEETING@BREWSTER-MA.GOV BREWSTER MA 02631 Minutes • September 5th, 2023 o CAROL made a motion to approve the September 5th meeting minutes as presented.
