AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES WITHIN THE CITY, PRESCRIBING A
PRESUMPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
ISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking between curb and sidewalk prohibited.
The driver of a vehicle shall not park the same within the right of
ay of any public street or roadway so that all, or any portion, of
the vehicle is between the curb, or curbline, and a public sidewalk
on the same side of the street or roadway as said curb, or curbline
Section 2. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a
Aft violation of any provision of Section 1 hereof, proof that the
vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation of any
of the provisions of Section 1, together with proof that the defen-
dant named in the complaint was at the time of such parking the
owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a prima facie
presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who parked
the vehicle at the point where, and at the time during which, such
violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating any of the provi-
sions of Section 1 hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $100,00 or
be imprisoned not more than 90 days or incur both such fine and
imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in ,force from and after its passage and approval.
