ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING
PRESUMPTION, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND
REPEALING PARAGRAPH (90) OF SECTION 10.150 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 8025
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
ISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Vehicles Prohibited. The operator of a
otor vehicle shall not park the same, for a period of time in
excess of two (2) hours, at any point on the east half of Jefferson
Street between Dunklin Street and the East-West public alley lying
between and paralleling Ashley and Dunklin Streets.
Section 2. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of any provision of Section 1 hereof, proof that the
vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation of any
of the provisions of Section 1, together with proof that the
defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such parking
the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a prima
facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who
parked the vehicle at the point where, and at the time during which
such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating any of the provi-
sions of Section l hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $100.00 or
e imprisoned not more than 90 days or incur both such fine and
imprisonment.
Section 4. Repeal Clause. Paragraph (90) of Section 10. 150
of Ordinance Number 8025 of the City prohibiting the parking of a
motor vehicle, for a period of time in excess of two (2) hours, on
the East half of Jefferson Street between its intersections with
Ashley Street and Dunklin Street be, and it is hereby, repealed.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
