AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING
A PRESUMPTION, REPEALING INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES AND PROVIDING A
PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Vehicles Prohibited. The operator of a
motor vehicle shall not park the same on the south half of Tower
Drive at any point between Southwest Boulevard and the intersection
of Tower Drive with the westerly City Limits Line.
Section 2. Prescribing a Presumption. In any prosecution for
a violation of any provision of Section 1 hereof, proof that the
vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation of any
of the provisions of Section 1, together with proof that the
defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such parking
the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a prima fact
presumption .that the owner of the vehicle was the person who parked
the vehicle at the point where, and at the time during which, such
violation occurred.
Section 3. Repeal Clause. All ordinances, or parts of
ordinances, in conflict with this ordinance are, and they are
hereby, repealed.
Section 4. Penalty. Any person violating any of the
provisions of Section 1 hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than
$100.00 or be imprisoned not more than 90 days or incur both such
fine and imprisonment.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
