New City Notification Systems
Troubles with the release date continue to delay the opt-in capability of our new notification system. As noted last month, all listed land-line phones are already in the data base,
so most can expect a call to home in case of an emergency. The opt-in facility only allows cell phone and email, as well as unlisted and VOIP lines, to be added to the data base. We
will announce the opt-in feature and how to use it as soon as it becomes available!
Road Resurfacing Schedule
Expect road closures to support the following schedule for clearing and resurfacing of each respective roadway:
Thursday October 1 – Cedarwood topping
Monday October 5 – Medding topping
Tuesday October 6 – Van Horne topping
Wednesday October 7 – Van Horne topping
Fall Sidewalk Sale becomes Fall Sale-ing Day
Island businesses and residents will be repeating last years sidewalk sales Saturday, October 24th. Resident sales will be at the Island Dentistry and 18th St Parking Lots from 8a-12n.
Business activities are 10am til close. Tables for residents are $15, or $20 after Oct 19. Business listings in advertising and marketing materials are also $20. Pick up a registration
form at Community Development in City Hall.

the Fire Station.

Spring Tides Again This Month
On October 17th, 18th and 19th, spring tides in excess of 8.5’ may cause flooding on Route 80 and at low-lying points of the Island. Don’t be a statistic! Do not attempt to drive on
submerged roads, should flooding occur!
