AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING
A PRESUMPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Loading Zones; Location of. The described areas
on the following roadways are loading zones, between the hours of
7:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. , every day except Saturday, Sunday and
legal holidays:
(10) The south side of High Street from 196.5 feet east of
® the east curb- line of Jefferson Street to 232.5 feet
® east of the east curb line of Jefferson Street.
(20) The north side of High Street from 225 feet east of the
east curb line of Jefferson Street to 307 feet east of
the east curb line of Jefferson Street.
(30) The south side of High Street from 244 feet east of the
east curb line of Madison Street to 279 feet east of
the east curb line of Madison Street.
(40) The north side of High Street from 129 feet east of the
east curb line of Madison Street to 163 feet east of
the east curb line of Madison Street.
(50) The south side of High Street from 52 feet east of the
east curb 'line of Monroe Street to 88 feet east of the
east curb line of Monroe Street.
Section 2. Parking Prohibited. The driver of a vehicle shall
not park it in any of the loading zones. established in the precedin
section, except that commercial vehicles and trucks may be parked
in the loading zones for fifteen (15) minutes or less while loading
or unloading goods, wares, merchandise or materials at business
places in the area.
Section 3. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of Section 2, proof that the vehicle described in the
complaint was parked in violation of Section 2, together with proof
that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such

sparking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a
,prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the per-
:son who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time
during which, such violation occurred.
Section 4. Penalty. A person violating this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be fined not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for
not more than 90 days, or be punished by both such fine and
imprisonment.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
