AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND DIS-
CONTINUING SANFORD STREET, AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE IN SAID CITY,
AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE CLERK OF THE CITY
TO EXECUTE ALL WRITTEN INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED TO CONFIRM IN THE OWNER
OF THE ADJACENT LAND THEIR REVERSIONARY RIGHTS IN THE VACATED RIGHT
OF-WAY.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the City Council of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, that the owner of all land adjacent to and
abutting upon Sanford Street in the City has petitioned the City
Council to vacate the right of way of Sanford Street as a public
thoroughfare; and
WHEREAS,- it has further been shown that it would not inconven-
ience the public or the citizens of the city to discontinue as a
right of way for a public thoroughfare and vacate Sanford Street as
described in Section 1 of this ordinance, NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, hereby declares it necessary, reasonable and proper to
discontinue As' a right of way for a public thoroughfare and forever
vacate the following described portion of Sanford Street in said
City:
® "That part of Sanford Street extending approximately
235 feet westerly from the west line of Carter Street
and bounded on the south by Lots 1, 4 and 5 of Block 3
of Fairacres Subdivision, and by Lots 8, 9 and 10 of
Block 2 of Fairacres Subdivision, as per plat of
record in Plat Book 2 at Pages 50 and 51, Cole County
Recorder's Office."
Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owner of
the abutting property to the right of way of Sanford Street
described, as provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, is
hereby expressly confirmed, and the Mayor and Clerk of the city are
hereby authorized and directed to execute all written instruments
1required to confirm in the abutting property owner its reversionary
frights in the land hereinabove described and hereby vacated.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in farce
from and after its passage and approval.
