I `IAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING + ORDINANCE NO. 7995 OF THE CITY, PROVIDING FOR THE DIVISION OF THE (CITY INTO FIVE (5) WARDS, AND FOR REPRESENTATION TO THE CITY 1 AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT. IBE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, 'MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: II� Section 1. Division of City into Wards. The City of i II �IJefferson, Missouri, is hereby divided into five (5) wards, which !shall be named the First Ward, the Second Ward, the Third Ward, the Fourth Ward, and Fifth Ward respectively. Section 2. First Ward Boundaries. The First Ward shall be ;bounded as follows: Beginning in the center of the Missouri River at a point on the extension northerly of the westerly line of liPrivate Survey #2680; thence southerly along the said northerly Iextension and the westerly line of Private Survey #2680 to the northeasterly corner of Section 22, Township 44, Range 11, thence 11, southwesterly in a direct line to the southerly right-of-way line of U.S.Route 50 at Station 225+00 (Mo. Second Ward Boundaries: The Second Ward shall be bounded as follows: Beginning in the center of the Missouri River at a point on the extension northerly of the centerline of Marshall Street; thence southerly along the said northerly extension and the centerline of Marshall Street to the centerline of East Miller Street; thence westerly along the centerline of East Miller Street to the centerline of Jackson Street; thence southerly along the centerline of Jackson Street to the centerline of East Dunklin Street; thence westerly along the centerline of East Dunklin Street to the centerline of Madison Street; thence southerly along the centerline of Madison Street to the centerline of Atchison Street; thence westerly along the centerline of Atchison Street and the extension westerly thereof to the centerline of U.S.Highway 54; thence northwesterly along the centerline of U.S.Highway 54 to the center ofMcCarty Street; thence westerly along the centerline of McCarty Street to the centerline of Fulkerson Street and Industrial Drive; thence westerly along the centerline of Industrial Drive to the extension southerly of the centerline of Hamlin Street; thence northerly along the aforesaid extension and the centerline of Hamlin Street and the extension northeasterly of the centerline of Hamlin Street to the center of the Missouri River on the county lin between Cole County and Callaway County; thence southeasterly along and with the center of the Missouri River to the west line of ` Section 22, Township 44, Range 11, in Callaway County; thence north degrees, 30 minutes west, along the west line of Sections 22 and '15 and Private Survey #2638 to the northwest corner of Private Survey #2638; thence north 85 degrees, 03 minutes east 343.2 feet; thence north 00 degrees 26 minutes east 133 feet; thence north 84 degrees 18 minutes east, 1045.8 feet; thence south 4 degrees 30 minutes east 520.7 feet; thence south 54 degrees 22 minutes east, 707.8 feet; thence north 84 degrees 15 minutes east, 3456.8 feet to a point on the east line of New Madrid Private Survey #2638, said point being 990 feet south of the northeast corner of said Private Survey #2638; thence southerly along the east line of said Private Survey #2638, 3096.8 feet; thence north 64 degrees 11 minutes west, ;K - 2 - .i 2635.07 feet; thence south 84 degrees 15 minutes west, 1466.89 V,AISY feet; thence south 6 degrees 00 minutesnto the center of the Missouri River on the county line; thence southeasterly along and with the centerline of the Missouri River to the point of beginning Section 4. Third Ward Boundaries: The Third Ward shall be bounded as follows: Beginning at a point where the centerline of the Missouri River is intersected by the northeasterly extension of the centerline of Hamlin Street; thence southwesterly along said extension and the centerline of Hamlin Street and the southwesterly extension of said centerline to the centerline of Industrial Drive; thence westerly along the centerline of Industrial Drive to the centerline of North Ten Mile Drive; thence westerly along the centerline of North Ten Mile Drive to the easterly line of Fraction- al Section 4, Township 44, Range 12; thence northerly along said easterly line of Fractional Section 4 to the northeast corner thereof on the Township line; thence easterly along the Township line between Townships 44 and 45 to the southwest corner of Section 34, Township 45, Range 12; thence northerly along the westerly line of Section 34 and Fractional Section 27, Township 45, Range 12, to the northerly right-of-way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Main Line; thence easterly along the northerly right-of-way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Main Line to the northerly line of the south half of Section 35, Township 45, Range 12; thence east along said quarter section line and the extension thereof to the center of the Missouri River on the county line between Cole County and Callaway County; thence southeasterly along and with the center of the Missouri River to the point of beginning. Section 5. Fourth Ward Boundaries: The Fourth Ward shall be bounded as follows: Beginning at a point where the centerline of North Ten Mile Drive is intersected by the corporate city limits; thence easterly along the centerline of North Ten Mile Drive to the centerline of Industrial Boulevard; thence easterly along the centerline of Industrial Boulevard to the centerline of McCarty Street; thence easterly along the centerline of McCarty Street to - 3 - i� i the centerline of U.S.Highway 50, 54 and 63; thence southerly along the centerline of U.S.Highway 54 to its intersection with the westerly extension of the extended centerline of Atchison Street; tthence easterly along said westerly extension and the centerline of IlAtchison Street to the centerline of Madison Street; thence south- erly along the centerline of Madison Street to the centerline of IlRussell Street; thence easterly along the centerline of Russell Street and the extension thereof, to the centerline of Lafayette Street; thence southerly to the center of the intersection of Ellis 4Boulevard and Tanner Bridge Road; thence southerly along the center I of Tanner Bridge Road to the corporate city limits line; thence i along and with the corporate city limits, as defined in Ordinance I �No. 8094, by the shortest route to the point of beginning. Section 6. Fifth Ward Boundaries: The Fifth Ward shall be bounded as follows: Beginning at a point where the centerline of I Madison Street is intersected by the centerline of Dunklin Street; I,thence southerly along the centerline of Madison Street to the centerline of Russell Street; thence easterly along the centerline II� of Russell Street, and the extension thereof, to the centerline of Lafayette Street; thence southerly to the center of the intersec- tion of Ellis Boulevard and Tanner Bridge Road; thence southerly ! along the centerline of Tanner Bridge Road to the corporate city limits line; thence along the corporate city limits line, as defined in Ordinance No. 8094, by the shortest route, to the inter-' ( section of the southerly line of Section 21, Township 44, Range 11 and the southerly right-of-way line of U.S.Route 50 (Mo. Project F-1(12)) ; thence northerly parallel to the easterly line of Sectio � 21 to the centerline of U.S.Route 50; thence westerly along the centerline of the aforementioned U.S.Route 50 to the centerline of i iCl Avenue; thence southerly along the centerline of Clark Avenu the centerline of East Dunklin Street; thence westerly along th centerline of East Dunklin Street to the centerline of Madison Street, the the point of beginning. - 4 - I f , Section 7. Representation of Wards. Each of the above Wards shall be entitled to two (2) representatives in the city council who shall be elected thereto in the manner provided by law. Section 8. Present Councilmen. Each councilman, as of the effective date of this ordinance, shall continue to hold office and represent the ward in which he resides until his successor shall have been elected and qualified. Section 9. Repeal Clause. Ordinance No. 7995 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is, and the same is hereby, repealed. Section 10. Effective Date.
