January 6th, 1939.
A meeting of ouncil was held to -day at 7 :30 p.m., in
the Council Chamber, and was attended by Mayor McMillan, who
presided, and Councilmen May, Farrell, `rant, Haar.
The meeting was called for the following purposes;
Consider selling the three building owned by the
town in the public park.
Taking an option on the hammock west of 6th Avenue
owned by the Tybee Beach Company.
Councilman Farrell moved the three building owned by the Town
in the public park, (the building occupied by the schoolteacher,
the old town hall and the building occupied by Mrs. W.J.Bryan,)
be sold, Councilman Kreitzer seconded and the motion passed
unanamJusly.
Councilman Haar moved that the three buildings in the public
park,( building occupied by Mrs. Willis, the schoolteacher,
the building kno*naastthe old town hall, and the building now
occupied by Mrs. W.J.Bryan), be sold for '$1500.00 cash for the
three, the purchaser be given 10 days option to buy, and also
purchaser give ptesent tenants 60 days notice to vacate,
Councilman Farrell seconded and the motion passed unanamously.
Councilman Haar moved that the town purchase from the Tybee
Beach Company the hammock located west of 6th Avenue for
<,p7, x$3462.16, that the town take a 60 day option onit, and also
that the purchase price be deducted from delinquent taxes due
to the town by the Tybee Beach Company, Councilman Tant seconded
those voting "Yes "; Tant, Farrell, May, Haar. Voting "No ";
Kreitzer.
