ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING
A PRESUMPTION, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. Parking Vehicles Prohibited. The driver of a
Imotor vehicle shall not park for longer than two (2) hours at any
time between the hours of 7:00 o'clock A.M. and 7:00 o'clock P.M. ,
on any day except Sunday or a legal holiday, at any point on the
west half of Broadway Street between High Street and McCarty Street

Section 2. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of any provision of Section 1 hereof, proof that the
vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation of any
of the provisions of Section 1, together with proof that the
defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such parking
the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a prima
facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who
parked the vehicle at the point where, and at the time during which
such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating any of the provi-
sions of Section 1 hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than one
hundred ($100.00) dollars or be imprisoned not more than ninety
(90) days or incur both such fine and imprisonment.

-t Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
