AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING
A PRESUMPTION, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Vehicles Prohibited. The driver of a

motor vehicle shall not park it for longer than two (2) hours,
between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. on any day, except
Sunday or a legal holiday, at any point on the east half of
l' Jefferson Street from Ashley Street north to the public alley.
Section 2. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of any provision of Section 1 hereof, proof that the
vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation of any
of the provisions of Section 1, together with proof that the defen-
dant named in the complaint was at the time of such parking the
Iowner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a prima facie
� resum tion that the owner of the vehicle was the person who parked

11the vehicle at the point where, and at the time during which, such
Iviolation occurred. I
Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating any of the provi-
,
sions of Section 1 hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $100.00 or

fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
