AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING
JA PRESUMPTION, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Loading Zone, Location of. The described area on
the following named roadway is a loading zone between the hours of
8:00 o'clock A.M. and 5:00 o'clock P.M. , every day except Sunday:
i The south half of Capitol Avenue between the points
located 70 feet and 88 feet west of the west curb
line of Adams Street.
Section 2. Parking Prohibited. The driver of a vehicle
lshall not park it in the loading zone established in the preceding
( section, except that commercial vehicles and trucks may be parked
in the loading zone for fifteen (15) minutes or less while loading
or unloading goods, wares, merchandise or materials at business j
places in the area.
Section 3. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a
('violation of any provision of Section 2 of this ordinance, proof
that the vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation
of any provision of Section 2 hereof, together with proof that the
defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such parking
IIthe owner of the vehicle, shall. constitute in evidence a prima
I+Ifacie Presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who

1parked the vehicle at the point where, and at the time during
which, such violation occurred.
Section 4. Penalty. Any person violating the terms of
Section 2 of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than one

hundred ($100.00) dollars or be imprisoned not more than ninety
1 (90) days , or incur both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
