AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING PART OF A PUBLIC ALLEY LYING BETWEEN ADAMS STREET
AND JACKSON STREET, AND PART OF A PUBLIC ALLEY LYING BETWEEN
JACKSON STREET AND MARSHALL STREET AND NORTH OF WATER (STATE)
STREET, AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE MAYOR AND THE CLERK OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE ALL WRITTEN
INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED TO CONFIRM IN THE OWNERS OF THE ADJACENT LAND
THEIR REVERSIONARY RIGHTS IN THE VACATED RIGHT OF WAY.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the City Council of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, that all the owners of 'land adjacent to and
abutting upon the alley have petitioned the City Council to vacate
the right of way aforementioned.
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not incon-
venience the public or the citizens of the city to discontinue, as
a right of way for a public thoroughfare, and vacate said alley,
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, hereby declares it necessary, reasonable and proper to
discontinue as a right of way for a public thoroughfare and
forever vacate the alley located between Adams Street and Jackson
Street, and Jackson Street and Marshall Street and north of Water
(State) Street, more particularly described as follows :
"Part of an alley between Adams Street and Jackson
Street, 198 feet, 9 inches north of State (Water) Street,
and more particularly described as follows :
"Beginning at the northwesterly corner of Inlot No.
178 in the City of Jefferson, Missouri; thence easterly
along the southerly line of a public alley 69 feet, 7
inches ; thence northerly a distance of 20 feet to a point
on the northerly line of said public alley; thence
westerly along said northerly line a distance of 69 feet,
7 inches ; thence southerly a distance of 20 feet to the
point of beginning.
"Also part of a public alley between Jackson and
Marshall Street 198 feet, 9 inches north of State (Water)
Street and more particularly described as follows:
"Beginning at the northwesterly corner of Inlot No.
189 in the City of Jefferson, Missouri; thence easterly
along the southerly line of a public alley a distance of
104 feet, 4k inches; thence northerly a distance of 20
feet to a point on the northerly line of said public
alley; thence westerly along said northerly line a
distance of 104 feet, 4k inches; thence southerly a
distance of 20 feet to the point of beginning."

Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of
the abutting property to the right of way of the alley between
Adams Street and Jackson Street, and part of an alley between
Jackson Street and Marshall Street, heretofore described, as
provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, is hereby expressly
confirmed, and the Mayor and Clerk of the City are hereby
authorized and directed to execute all written instruments required
to confirm in the abutting property owners their reversionary
rights in the land heretofore described and hereby vacated.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
