ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIB-
ING A PRESUMPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Prohibited. The operator of a vehicle
shall not park the same at any place on the east side of South-
west Boulevard from a point 1300 feet south of the south curb
line of Thompson Street and extending to a point 1900 feet south
of the south curb line of Thompson Street measured along the
east curb line of Southwest Boulevard.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of Section 1, proof that the vehicle described in the
complaint was parked in violation of Section 1, together with
proof that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time
of such parking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in
evidence a prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle
was the person who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for
the time during which, such violation occurred.
Section 3 . Penalty. A person violating this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be fined not more than $100.04 or be imprisoned in jail for
not more than 90 days, or be punished by both such fine and im-
prisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
