AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADWAY OF
CHESTNUT STREET FROM THE END OF THE CONCRETE PAVEMENT AT THE
INTERSECTION OF CHESTNUT STREET AND GOLD STREET NORTHERLY TO
THE END OF A 33 FOOT CONCRETE PAVEMENT IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, BY CURBING AND GUTTERING AND PAVING WITH PORTLAND
CEMENT CONCRETE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS
FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1. Whereas, it was heretofore found and declared
by the City Council, by its resolution, passed and approved on
August 4, 1969, necessary to improve the roadway of Chestnut
Street from the end of the concrete pavement at Gold Street
and Chestnut Street northerly to the end of a 33 foot concrete
pavement in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by curbing and
guttering and paving with Portland Cement concrete, and it

and published in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and a majority
of the resident owners of property along said section of
Chestnut Street liable for the costs of said improvement, and

a protest against said contemplated improvement.
SECTION 2. That the said road of Chestnut Street from the
end of the concrete pavement at the intersection of Chestnut:
Street and Gold Street northerly to the end of a 33 foot con-
crete pavement, in accordance with the plans and specifications
submitted by the Director of Public Works and filed in the
office of the City Clerk, and that the total cost of the work
aforesaid shall be charged and levied as a special assessment
against the real estate abutting and fronting on said contem-
plated improvement, and special tax bills shall be issued
therefore, as provided in the City Charter, and in Sections 826,
827, 828, 829 and 767 of Chapter 10 of the Revised Ordinances
of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, and of the Revised
Statutes of the State of Missouri., 1959, and amendments thereto.
SECTION 3. The Director of Public Works is hereby instructed
to advertise for bids for this improvement.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
