Jones Clerk- Treasurer GREENCASTLE BOARD OF WORKS REGULAR SESSION WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1998 4:00 P.M. STREET DEPARTMENT The Greencastle Board of Works met in Regular Session, Wednesday, November 18, 1998, 4:00 p.m. at the City Street Department. Mayor Michael called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. On the Roll Call, the following were found to be present: Sue Murray. George Murphey was absent. Also present were: City Engineer Ron Smith, Water Superintendent Terry Dale, Street Superintendent Jim Wright, Interim Wastewater Superintendent Mike Neese and Council President David Masten. Motion to approve London Witte Group Engagement Letter for Financial Advisor for Sewer Utility Project was made by Sue Murray, seconded by Mayor Michael. Vote was unanimous. Motion to approve Wastewater Treatment claims in the amount of 542,317.19, made by Sue Murray, seconded by Mayor Michael. Vote was unanimous. Motion to approve Water claims in the amount of $66,788.59, made by Mayor Michael, seconded by Sue Murray. Vote was unanimous. Clerk- Treasurer Jones addressed a letter submitted by Interim Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Mike Neese in regards to purchasing additional protective wear for employees at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Mr. Neese stated these items cannot be purchased from clothing allowance due to rental of uniforms. CT Jones presented a letter from Street Department Superintendent Jim Wright, who is also IOSHA inspector for the City, regarding the need for steel -toes boots for certain City employees. It was agreed these items will have to be purchased out of the general supplies for each department. seemed to have bad judgement. Clerk- Treasurer Jones asked about the letter submitted from TLC Unlimited regarding a bill for Frank Nuz for a pre- employment physical which ended up being a cardiac work up. Sue Murray asked Superintendent Dale if he told Mr. Nuz to have a cardiac status done as part of his pre- employment physical? Superintendent Dale stated he did not, but did tell Mr. Nuz he was concerned about his heart condition. Sue Murray suggested Attorney Selvia review the letter to see if the City has any liability to pay.
