AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADWAY OF
DIX ROAD FROM MISSOURI BOULEVARD SOUTHERLY 600 FEET IN THE
CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY CURBING AND GUTTERING WITH
PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE AND PAVING WITH ASPHALTIC CONCRETE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS
FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1. Whereas, it was heretofore found and declared
by the City Council, by its resolution, passed and approved on
April 6, 1970, necessary to improve the roadway of Dix Road
from Missouri Boulevard southerly 600 feet in the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, by curbing and guttering with Portland
cement concrete and paving with asphaltic concrete, and it
appearing to the City Council that said resolution has been
duly published according to the law for seven (7) consecutive
insertions, in the Post Tribune, a daily newspaper, printed
and published in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and a
majority of the resident owners of property along said section
of Dix Road liable for the costs of said improvement, and
who own a majority of the front feet on said Dix Road intended
to be improved, have not filed with the City Clerk a protest
against said contemplated improvement .
SECTION 2 . That the said road of Dix Road from Missouri.
Boulevard southerly 600 feet, in accordance with the plans and
specifications submitted by the Director of Public Works and
filed in the office of the City Clerk, and that the total cost

of the work aforesaid shall be charged and levied as a special
assessment against the real estate abutting and fronting on
said contemplated improvement, and special tax bills shall be
issued therefore, as provided in the City Charter, and in
Sections 826, 827, 828, 829 and 767 of Chapter 10 of the
Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, an
of the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri, 1959, and
amendments thereto.
SECTION 3 . The Director cf Public Works is hereby instructed
to advertise for bids for this improvement.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
