ORDINANCE NO. 3&
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING AS A PUBLIC ALLEY, A PORTION OF THE ALLEY LOCATED IN
S.W.COX'S SUBDIVISION, RESERVING TO THE CITY AN EASEMENT IN THE
RIGHT OF WAY VACATED FOR SANITARY SEWER, SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE,
AND PUBLIC UTILITY PURPOSES, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
MAYOR AND CLERK OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE ALL INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED
TO CONFIRM IN THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS THEIR RIGHT OF
REVERSION IN THE VACATED AREA.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the City Council of the City
of Jefferson, Missouri, that an owner of land adjacent to and
abutting an alley located in S. W. Cox' s Subdivision in the City,
has petitioned the City Council to vacate a part of the right of
way of said alley as a public thoroughfare; and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not
inconvenience the public or the citizens of the City to discontinue
as a right of way for a public thoroughfare and vacate a part of
said alley, as described in Section 1 of this Ordinance, subject
to a reservation in the City of an easement in that portion of the

alley vacated for the maintenance, repair, location and relocation
of all sanitary sewer, surface water sewer or public utility
facilities now existing or hereafter to be constructed, within
said right of way, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri., hereby declares it necessary, reasonable and proper to
discontinue as a right of way for a public thoroughfare and
forever vacate the following described portion of an alley in said
City, subject to the reservation in the City of the easement
mentioned in Section 2 of this Ordinance:
Part of a public alley in S.W.Cox's Subdivision of
Inlots No. 633, 748„ 749 and 851 in the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, per plat of record in Plat
Book 3, Pa a 6, Cole County Recorder's Office, more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Inlot 748;
thence easterly along the northerly line of East
Elra Street (vacated) , a distance of 10 feet; thence
northerly parallel with the easterly line of Inlot
748 to a point on the southerly right of way line
of U.S Highway No. 50; thence southwesterly along
said right of way line to the point of beginning.

Section 2. The City of Jefferson, Missouri, does hereby
expressly reserve to itself, its successors and licensees, and all
public utility companies within the City, an easement in, under,
over and upon that portion of the right of way of an alley, as
described in Section 1 of this ordinance, for purposes of repairing,
maintaining, servicing, locating and relocating all sanitary sewer
surface water drainage and public utility facilities now existing
or hereafter to be constructed within said area.
Section 3. The statutory right of reversion in the owners
of the abutting property is hereby confirmed, subject to the
easement expressly reserved in Section 2 of this ordinance, as is
provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor and
the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and directed to
execute all instruments required to confirm the reversionary rights
of the owners of property abutting on the area vacated, as
described in Section 1 of this ordinance, in the right of way
vacated.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
CONVEY CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby auth rized to convey, by
Quit Claim Deed, t the Housing Authority f the City of Jefferson,
all of the City's r ht, title and inter st in and to the following
described real grope y:
Part of East El Street in th City of Jefferson,
Missouri, vacat d by Ordinanc No. 7836, and more
particularly des ribed as fo lows:
Beginning at the outheast rly corner of Inlot 748;
thence easterly a ong the northerly line of East
Elm Street (vacate ) a d' tance of 10 feet; thence
southerly parallel ith he easterly line of Inlot
748 extended to thence er line of East Elm Street
(vacated) ; thence wept rly along said center line
a distance of 10 feet thence northerly along the
easterly line of Inl 748 extended to the point
of beginning.
Also, part of a p lic lley in S. W. Cox' s
Subdivision of I. ots N . 633, 748, 749 and 851
in the City of J fferson Missouri, per plat of
record in Plat ook 3, P ge 6, Cole County
