AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL TAX BILL AGAINST
THE LOTS OR TRACTS OF LAND FRONTING AND ABUTTING ON THE ROADWAY OF
DIX ROAD FROM 50 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF
MISSOURI BOULEVARD SOUTHERLY 490 FEET, IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SAID ROADWAY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby levied and assessed at the rate
and cost price per front foot as specified in Section 2 of this
Ordinance, against the aggregate lots or tracts of land fronting
or abutting on the roadway of Dix Road from 50 feet south of the
south right-of-way line of Missouri Boulevard southerly 490 feet,
in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the improvement of the
roadway of Dix Road, aforesaid, the sum of $10, 741.35 as the total
costs of the improvement of said street and the number of front
` feet fronting or abutting said roadway of said Dix Road from 50
feet south of the south right-of-way line of Missouri Boulevard
southerly 490 feet,, in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, amount
y to 978 . 9 front feet ; the cost price per front foot is $10. 9729.

SECTION 2. For the purpose of paying said improvement of
said roadway of Dix Road from 50 feet south of the south right-of-
way line of Missouri Boulevard southerly 490 feet, in the City of
'Jefferson, Missouri, there is hereby levied and assessed the sum
of $10, 741.35 as a special tax against each front foot of ground
fronting or abutting said roadway of Dix Road from 50 feet south
of the south right-of-way line of Missouri Boulevard southerly
490 feet, in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and contained in
such lot or piece of around fronting or abutting said improved
roadway of said Dix Road.
SECTION 3 . The name of each property owner or owners and
the description of each lot or piece of ground fronting or abut-
ting on each side of Dix Road and the number of front feet owned
by each owner or owners and contained in the lots or tracts of land so
owned and abutting said street or block between the aforesaid 50
feet south of the south right--of-way line of Missouri Boulevard
southerly 490 feet and the cost price per front foot for said
improvement and the amount hereby levied and assessed as a special
tax for said improvement against each lot or piece of ground
fronting or abutting said Dix Road from 50 feet south of the
south right-of-way line of Missouri Boulevard southerly 490 feet,
in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is listed as follows:
Jack Jordan and Frances Jean Jordan, his wife, owners of a part
of the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 12,
Township 44, Range 12, Cole County, Missouri, and more particu-
larly described as follows :
From the northwest corner of said Section 12, thence southerly

along the west line of said Section 12, 2003 feet ; thence
S87013 'W, 50.02 feet, to the point of beginning of this
description; thence continuing S87013 'W, 269. 59 feet ; thence
southerly parallel to the west line of said Section 12, 30
feet ; thence N87013 'W, 269. 59 feet ; thence northerly parallel

From the northwest corner of Section 12, Township 44, Range 12
thence south along the section line, 1643 feet, more or less, to
the south line of U. S . Highway No. 50; thence turning an angle
87 018' to the left, 50.02 feet to a point 50 feet east of the
section line and the beginning point of this description; thence
continuing in an easterly direction along the south line of
said highway, 169.59 feet ; thence south parallel with the sectio
Line, 150 feet; thence west parallel with the south line of said
highway, 169.59 feet, to a point 50 feet east of the section
line; thence north parallel with the section line, 150 feet, to
the beginning point of this description.

Roy .A. Scheperle and Marie Scheperle, his wife, owners of a part

12, Township 44, Range 12, south of U. S . Highway 050, and more
particularly described as follows : From a stone at the south-
west corner of the northwest quarter of said Section 12 ; thence
north along the west line of said Section 1.2, 504.64 feet;
thence east 50 feet, to a point in the east line of a proposed
street, thence northerly along the easterly line of said pro-
posed street, and parallel with the west line of said Section
12, 383 .5 feet, to the beginning point of this description;
thence easterly at right angles to the westerly line of said
quarter section, 269.59 feet; thence north parallel with the
west line of said Section 12, 210 feet, more or less, to the
southerly right-of-way line of U.S . Highway #50; thence westerly
along the southerly right-of.-way line of said Highway, 100 feet;
thence south parallel with the said Section line, 150 feet;
thence westerly parallel with the southerly line of said Highway

the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of said section
12; thence north along the west line of section 12, 504.64 feet ;
thence east 50 feet to a point in the east line of a proposed
street. Thence northerly along the easterly line of said pro-
posed street, and parallel with the west line of said Section 12
383 .5 feet to the beginning point of this description; thence
easterly at right angles to said westerly line of said quarter
section, 269.59 feet; thence southerly parallel with the
westerly line of said section 150 feet to the northerly line
of a proposed 30 ft. wide street; thence westerly along the
northerly line of said proposed street and at right angles with
the westerly line of said section 269.59 feet to a point on the
easterly line of the proposed 50 ft. wide street; thence
northerly along the easterly line of said 50 ft . wide street
and parallel with the westerly line of said section 150 feet to
the point of beginning. Parties of the first part hereby re-
serve for themselves their heirs and assigns an easement for
sewer-right-of-way purposes of a strip of ground 5 feet in width
along the easterly line of the above described tract.

From the intersection of the southerly line of U. S . Highway
No. 50, with the east line of said southeast quarter of the
northeast quarter of said Section; thence south along the
said east line 208 feet 9 inches , to an old iron axle in
hackberry stump, said point being the southeasterly corner of
the tract of land conveyed to Isidor Veit as shown of record in
Book 85, Page 488, Cole County Recorder' s office, thence north
88013 ' west along the southerly line of said Veit tract., 155
feet, more or less, to a concrete cylinder, said point being th

SECTION 4. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to
t. make out special tax bills in favor of the contractor, Jefferson
= Y
Asphalt, Co. , Inc. , for the within mentioned work in accordance
with the ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, relative
to said kind of work and in accordance with the Ordinance of
said City in regard to said work.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
