AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 8177, THE PARKING AND TRAFFIC CODE OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, BY CHANGING SECTION 10.300, REMOVAL OF VEHICLES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amend Section 10.300, Removal of Vehicles , by
changing the same to read as follows:
Section 10.300. Removal of vehicles, 1. Police
officers are authorized to have a motor vehicle removed from
a street, highway, or city owned parking area, to a service
station, garage or other place of safety:
(A) When any vehicle is left unattended upon any
bridge, viaduct, or causeway, or in any tube
or tunnel where such vehicle constitutes an
obstruction to traffic ;
(B) When a vehicle upon a highway is so disabled as
to constitute an obstruction to traffic and the
person in charge of the vehicle is by reason of
physical injury incapacitated to such an extent
as to be unable to provide for its custody or
removal;
(C) When any vehicle is left unattended upon a
street and is so parked illegally as to
constitute a definite hazard or obstruction
to the normal movement of traffic;
(D) When any vehicle is parked in any metered space
or rental space operated by the city on any
street, highway or parking lot operated by the
city, when the metered charges or the monthly
charges for said parking spaces have not been
paid by the owner of the vehicle.
2. Any motor- vehicle removed from a street or
highway, or metered or rental space operated by the city,
under the provisions of sub--section 1 of this section,
shall be considered an abandoned or disabled motor vehicle
and the provisions and procedures in Section 10,290 shall
apply and be observed.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in effect immediately
upon its passage and approval.
