AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL TAX AGAINST EACH
LOT OR PIECE OF GROUND LYING BETWEEN AND SITUATE WI`T'HIN THE
BOUNDS OF SEWER DISTRICT NO. 116"A" IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , IN THE NAME OF THE OWNER OR OWNERS THEREOF FOR
CONSTRUCTING AND COMPLETING SEWERS THEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1 . It appearing from the written report of the
Director of Public Works, the officer in charge of the work of
construction and completing sewers in Sewer District No., l[L6"A"
in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, heretofore submitted by
said officer to the City Council and approved and filed by it or
the ; 18th day of January 19___11__, at a regular meeting
of the City Council held on this date, that the total cost of
construction and completing of said sewer as constructed amount
to the sum of $6, 988.64 and it further appearing that said
report of said officer did apportion said costs against the
several lots or pieces of ground in said Sewer District,
exclusive of streets in proportion to the area of the whole of
said Sewer District exclusive of . the public highways , and it
further appearing that the total number of square feet con-
tained in the aggregate number of lots and pieces of ground
situated in the said Sewer District, exclusive of the public
highways therein, amounts to 231,755 square feet . And
it further appearing from the "said report that on proper
apportionment of said costs such lots or pieces of ground in
said Sewer District, so situated, e9ch square foot of ground
contained in said lots or pieces of ground in said Sewer
District is chargeable with the sum of $ .0301553 per square
foot.
Now, therefore, for the purpose of paying for the work
of construction and completion of sewers in said Sewer
District together with all necessary laterals, inlet s , catch
basins, manholes, and other necessary appurtenances thereto
appertaining, there is hereby levied and assessed against the
several and hereinafter described lots or pieces of ground
within the bounds of said Sewer District, situated in the
name of the respective name of the owner or owners of said
lots or pieces of ground, for a special tax at the rate of
$0.0301553 per square foot for each and every square foot of
ground so situated as aforesaid.
SECTION 2. Each of the lots or pieces of ground so
mentioned and referred to in Section 1 of this Ordinance,
against which a special tax bill is specified in Section 1
of this ordinance is levied and assessed and the same is

hereby levied and assessed and the description of said lots or
pieces of ground and the name of the owner or owners thereof
in which the tax is levied and assessed and the cost per square
foot and the amount assessed each lot or piece of ground in sai

SECTION 3 . The City Clerk is hereby instructed to proceed
at once to make out special tax bills under the seal of the City
of Jefferson, Missouri, of the aforesaid amounts against said
lots or pieces of land in the aforesaid Sewer District situated,
mentioned and described in the heretofore mentioned sections of this
Ordinance in the name of the owner or owners thereof, which said
special and certified tax bills shall be signed by the Mayor "and
attested and recorded by the City Clerk and delivered to the
Markway Excavation , the
Contractor of the work of construction of the aforesaid sewers
as provided and required by the Charter of the City of Jefferson
and the Ordinances authorizing and ordering the construction of
sewers in said Sewer District heretofore passed and approved
by the Council.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from• and after its passage and approval.
