AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADWAY OF
ST. MARY''S BOULEVARD FROM THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF GIPFERT
LANE TO THE DEAD END OF ST. MARY'S BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , BY CURBING AND GUTTERING WITH PORTLAND
` CEMENT CONCRETE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . Whereas , it was heretofore found and declared
by the City Council , by its resolution, passed and approved on
August 7, 1971 , necessary to improve the roadway of St . Mary' s
Boulevard from the east right-of-way line of Gipfert Lane to
the dead end of St. Mary' s Boulevard in the City of Jefferson,
Missouri , by curbing and guttering with Portland cement con-
crete , and it appearing to the City Council that said resolu-
tion has been duly published according to the law for seven (7)
consecutive insertions , in the Post Tribune , a daily newspaper,
printed and published in the City of Jefferson, Missouri , and a
majority of the resident owners of property along said section
of St. Mary' s Boulevard liable for the costs of said improvement ,
and who own a majority of the front feet on said St. Mary' s
Boulevard intended to be improved, have not filed with the City
Clerk a protest against said contemplated improvement.
SECTION 2 . That the said road of St . Mary' s Boulevard from
the east right-,of-way line of Gipfert Lane to the dead end of St.
Mary' s Boulevard, in accordance with the plans and specifications
submitted by the Director of Public Works and filed in the office
of the City Clerk, and that the total cost of the work aforesaid
shall be charged and levied as a special assessment against the
real estate abutting and fronting on said contemplated improve-
ment , and special tax bills shall be issued therefore, as pro-
vided in the City Charter, and in Sections 826 , 8270 828, 829 and
767 of Chapter 10 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri , 1956 , and of the Revised Statutes of the
State of Missouri. , 1959 , and amendments thereto.
SECTION 3 . The Director of Public Works is hereby in-
structed to advertise for bids for this improvement.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after. its .passage and approval.
